God Bless America

Once we found out we were pregnant with Zeke Bear we knew we wanted to finally take family pictures by an iconic DC or Virginia landmark. We were so excited to take pictures and to have them be taken by our good friends. What better way to take patriotic pictures than on the 4th of July. I love my family and we love these photos for more than just the photo; but for everything it means to us. We started our lives here together, bought our first home, had our first baby then our second. I learned to be a wife and mama, I was barely in my twenties when I moved here. Virginia has been good to me and my family. I am going to miss this place very much.

I don't know if we actually got even one photo with all of us looking at the camera. I learned that day that its much harder taking a family photo when you have more than one person.

I couldn't choose which ones I loved most so I included them all.

We seriously adore this family because they have become like family.

Sparkle

I feel like one of the characters from the movie Sparkle except I am few shades lighter and can not sing to save my life. I scored this skirt on cyber Monday, boy did I have fun shopping on the internet that day. I think I was a bit delusional because I bought everything in my pre pregnancy size. Until I get back to that size I am embracing my curves and learning to work around them.

I got my hair did

 I finally trimmed/ cut my hair. The last time a pair of scissors touched my hair I had just found out I was pregnant. I was so excited to get my hair did. I love my hair stylist its not often I find someone who knows how to cut my hair for my curly days and when I want it straight. Ruby at Frizzles Hair Salon is very knowledgeable and is a color expert. It seems that every time I have been there the other stylist come to her for questions on what to use. It's so reliving to sit in her chair and not wonder if I will like my haircut. I have my fair share of botched haircuts.

I wanted something different and I went back and forth between bangs and getting a short haircut so I obviously went with bangs. I also resisted the temptation to dye my hair and am loving my natural hair color.

So this is my first attempt at creating an outfit using Polyvore. Lately I have been thinking about cozy/casual/mommy friendly/nursing friendly outfits. This is my first creation. Lets see what else I come up with. Enjoy!
