First Day of School

Today is our first official day where the hubsters is now a full-time student at home and this will now count as his 9-5 job. We are all trying to get into the groove of things and I completed a little project today to help both Lady and I know when we can bother daddy and when we can't.

A friend told me that the biggest adjustment to daddy being home full-time was going to be on me because whenever I may need help with something I know he is right up stairs. Especially when baby #2 arrives and making dinner, cleaning up a spill, diaper change and a potty break all collide.

I have to get disciplined into thinking hubby is not here it's just me and the kiddos. So we shall see how the next year goes.

First I searched clip-art on Google for a traffic light.

Then I pasted it in paint and colored in the traffic lights.

Then I printed the two photos below out, laminated them,  punched a hole and hung them off of a basketball hoop.

It is also a great teaching opportunity for Lady to learn red light, green light. When she woke up from a nap she came and told me "mama its green light and daddy is playing with me." It was so adorable and looks like she got the concept. Now lets wait and see if I learn as fast. 

Here's to having the family together a lot.

Chevron Liner

I just posted pictures from the blue dresser the hubby and I completed for baby #2 room. Just wanted to show the before and after of the inside of the drawers.

Before

There was some kind of oil spot inside the dressers so we wanted to cover the inside with something. So I found this great print at TJ Max after I had bought a cork looking one from Lowes.  I am so glad I found this. All you need is a pair of scissors and some time to complete an easy fix. 

It was $5.99 for two rolls at TJ Max and was cheaper than the one I purchased at Lowes. I am already thinking of a few things someone could do with this chevron liner like making wall art and placing it in fun colored frames.

The letter "R"

My heart jumped when I saw this blog post by in the fun lane  she created a letter wreath to hang on a wall in the middle of an empty frame. I knew I had to do it and I also knew exactly where it would go. About a week later I saw a similar letter over at Miss Mustard Seed and she created a moss monogram with flower buds for HGTV.  So I was a woman on mission to create one just like it to go on top of vintage window/mirror for my bible page wall. When my grandmother was here we went to Micheal's to look for the letter. Well, I was not sure if the size was right so I didn't buy it. When my grandmother returned home she sent me two letter R's as a gift. The next day I went and bought the Spanish moss.

This is one of the letter's she sent and it stands up by itself and does not need any help to look fabulous.

I am not going to show you the whole wall just yet. Be patient and trust me it looks great.
