It’s something most Americans associate with third world countries and a few European ones. Yet, there are over 27 million people throughout the world living as modern day slaves, more than at the height of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade.
They are men, women, and children who are being deceived, kidnapped, trapped and shipped everywhere from America to Africa. They experience a loss of freedom, shame, degradation, and exploitation at the hands of their traffickers who buy and sell them in pursuit of profit.
